Hart House Camera Club

Founded in 1919, HHCC has since existed as an organization that gathers avid photographers and provides them with the equipment and space needed to do what they enjoy. The club first started by offering darkroom facilities for its members, with the advancements in digital photography, a digital darkroom (equipped with a desk computer with various photo-editing applications, flatbed scanner, and colour printer) was also set up to satisfy those who have a passion in this area. Courses for various realms of photography at different skill levels allow students to learn new concepts and techniques.

HHCC acts as a portal to photography news and events all around Toronto, and seeks to build a positive community, both online and offline, where members can share and learn with each other.

Creative Classes in Photography

What's in a picture? Anyone can take a photo, but understanding photography as a powerful tool to communicate can truly change the world.  At the Hart House Camera Club we believe that a solid grounding in photographic techniques is only one part of creating compelling images that communicate volumes.  A subtle medium, photography is endlessly flexible in meeting your needs to create, express, witness, or simply just have some fun.  So, clearly, there's a lot in a picture and that includes you.

In addition to offering darkroom facilities to develop and process film, Hart House Camera Club also provides a wide variety of photography courses designed to improve skills and deepen photography as a creative practice. Take a class, improve your skills, discover your talent, and share with other photography lovers. Learn more about Creative Classes in Photography.
