The Archery Club hosts Fun Shoots and in-house Tournaments throughout the year. Every member is encouraged to participate, no matter their experience or skill level. It’s a fun way to challenge your competitive side, and learn a lot about yourself.
In our FITA-style Tournaments there are four shooting divisions: Novice and Instinctive shoot at 60cm targets, and Olympic Recurve and Open shoot at 40cm targets. Top scores in each division receive prizes.
Dates of upcoming events will be posted here.
Halloween Fun Shoot
The annual fun shoot includes costumes, candy and swinging pumpkins! Everyone shoots at 18m at themed targets and there are prizes for highest score, lowest score (yes, lowest, which in this case could be in the negatives) and closest to zero. Not to mention the coveted Best Costume prize!
The club holds a half FITA tournament, which means 30 arrows at 18m at the end of each semester. This is great practice for the Club Championship at the end of the year, and a way to learn the ropes of archery tournaments. There are prizes awarded for top scores in each category.
Valentines Day Fun Shoot
Hosted on the week closest to V-Day, this event encourages fun competition between archers. There will be chocolate and themed prizes.
Winners of each category in this final event of the year learn the coveted privilege of having your name eternally engraved on one of HHAC’s four trophies and a personal medal, awarded at the Club Dinner at the end of the year.
HHAC members also participate in external tournaments against other clubs and at summer events such as the Spring Classic.
In February 2012, HHAC hosted the second annual Inter-University Archery Tournament! Archers from U of T, U of T Scarborough, York, Queens and Waterloo attended. You can find the results here : IUAT 2012 Results
